Hello, My Name is Ryan Helfers. I am a Student at Iowa State University looking for some summer fun! I have lots of experience and certifications that allow me to be very comfortable managing children in a fun and safe way. To start I would Like to explain 2 Jobs that I have worked in. 1: Village of South Elgin afterschool daycare counselor(Leave Date: June2014): I really did enjoy this Job as I found enjoyment from it. I had to leave however due to complications with my morning job as I will describe after this. This job equiped me with the tools to help children with schoolwork, cooperation, time management, personal troubles, and responsibility. I was in charge of helping kids with their homework, provided food, spending time outside with them, and finally making sure Read more they are safely picked up by their parents at the appropriate time. A group of myself and 2 other employees were in charge of roughly 75 children ranging from 1st grade to 5th grade. 2: Thornwood Thunder Youth Swim Coach( Currently Working )( Starting Working June 2014): This job is what replaced my job at village of South Elgin. I currently work as a head swim coach for over 150 children. This job runs from 7 am to 10 am and no later. During these 3 hours, I have 3 age groups ( 8 and under, 9-12, 13 and up) in which I provide positive and constructive feedback to make each child perform to the upmost of their potential. Every thursday night, we have swim meet competitions to see improvements in individual performance along with some good fun competition! Some of the skill that these jobs have equiped me with are: -Being able to handle kids ages 4-16 -Managing more than one kid at a time -Providing fun and safe ways to learn and grow -Being extremely active and participating in each childs life -Acting in a"peacekeeper" role, providing solutions to conflicts between kids -Staying active and excited to work and be around children -Being very comfortable with outdoors and all types of situations for kids -Overall providing a fun and safe way for your children to be cared for. Some other quick things about me -CPR Certified ( Summer 2015) -Valid Illinois Driver -American Red Cross Water Safety Certified ( Summer 2015) -4 Year Highschool Athlete and team Captain -Own a very reliable 4 door car (2010 Pontiac g6)
