Hey there! I'm Samantha (but you can call me Sammy) and I'm originally from Springfield, Illinois but am currently a 20-year old student here in Indianapolis! I am a second year student at IUPUI majoring in Exercise Science and pursuing a minor in Health & Wellness Coaching. I have been in the child care industry since High School! Ever since I was 17, I have been employed in my hometown as an instructor at "The Little Gym". TLG has been a place for me to build long lasting relationships with many families while teaching kids of the preschool and grade-school ages not just tumbling and dance skills, but critical thinking and social cooperative strengths as well! I have years of experience being one-on-one with kids, while also taking the responsibility of 25+ kids at once. Another fun experience I was able to volunteer with was being a camp counselor during Read more the summers (since the age of 16) with the Springfield Youth Performance Group! With SYPG, I was able to form a close connection with my group of campers throughout the summer weeks, and again, had a high standard of responsibility while taking account for each and every performer in my group! Giving children my undivided attention has always been such a joy and natural calling of mine! I honestly think I get it from my mother, who has been a preschool and parent/child teacher for around 30 years! Being able to interact, play, guide, and inspire kids is not something that comes naturally to everyone, but I have confidence that these traits have always been strong suits of mine. Other characteristics that I would define myself as would be bubbly, optimistic, patient, adaptable, and fun-loving! I love the outdoors and being physically active, as well as activities to do indoors such as arts and crafts and reading stories! Since my schooling is heavily online with asynchronous classes, I will have lots of availability during the typical work week. . My in-person classes I will most definitely have to be present for, but depending on the class, the zoom calls are for sure more flexible with attendance! With the adjustment to online, most lectures are recorded which will allow me to better adapt to your schedule! I live downtown Indy, but am more than willing to commute to surrounding areas!
