My name is Dann and I am interested in babysitting, nannying, and home care for children with special needs. I have cared for special needs and neuroatypical children as a child at my mothers daycare, in my own family, in the SpEd program at school, and even all the way in orphanages in Haiti after the earthquake. I am a big proponent of striving to stoke interests and hobbies of children, especially those with special needs because it gives them something to concentrate on, a way to direct focus and energy into something productive, and helps give children self worth and a social ice breaker to fall back on. I have worked with children from mild behavioral disorders to non-verbal as well as non-responsive. I am college educated with work in childhood psychology and development. I have a lot of emergency first aid training and experience from disaster response work. I was trained in real adult and infant cpr for medical professionals. I read/write/speak english proficiently. I speak moderate spanish and moderate Haitian kreyol. I love pets. I have transportation. I live locally in Sycamore and am very flexible. My only real policies are 1.Please respect my personal time, personal time over 30 minutes per week is billed at double time and 2. I bill for cancellations unless we agree on a replacement shift. Starting Feb 2022 I am available All hours. Due to a sick cat if there are hours between 9am and 5pm m-f I may require a short break to run home to care for him, until he passes.
