Hello, I am a Junior at UIC working toward a criminology, law & justice degree. I have been caring for kids since I was a teenager and have since developed a passion of providing knowledge, entertainment, & safety for children as if they were my own.I have been making connections and bonds with children and families since day one! I am also CPR certified and first aid trained.

I am a full-time nanny living in Chicago and I also provide babysitting services on occasion.  I have been helping with childcare for my family since I was 12 years old, as the eldest of five children, three of whom are active boys. I have always enjoyed watching over children and creating a fun, safe environment for my charges.  I have experience with infants, toddlers and preschool children, particularly preschool as I was an assistant Sunday school teacher for my church for six years.  I also did one summer as a camp counselor for a sleep-away camp, which put me in charge of 4-8 kids 22/7.  Some of my favorite activities are reading, drama and games. Generally I am a fun, easygoing sitter who enjoys playing games with the kids and making sure they have what they need.  I tend to be very calm and even tempered, which helps me keep up with high-energy kids.

I love caring for children and helping them become kind, honest, and healthy individuals. I am CPR and First Aid Certified. I have worked with children with special needs such as autism, ADHD, wheelchair users, non-verbal communication, and bathroom assistance. I have extensive experience with trauma-informed care for children. During my work at domestic violence shelters, I helped them process their changes in environment and other major life adjustments. I will tidy up and perform some light housework. You will always come home to a calm, clean environment, so all you will need to do is relax.

I have well over 25 years of professional Nanny/House Managing/Personal Assistant experience, in addition a to Pre-School teaching and Pre-School swim instruction background. I also have In-Home Day Care experience at my Westchester residence. I have a Child Development/Psychology background. I have an extensive medical background/CPR trained and can handle children with special needs. Kids respond to me because I am patient, outgoing, fun-loving and try to relate to them at their level. I also try to make every day a fun learning experience. I am not afraid to get my hands dirty. In the summer you can find me on the ground catching insects, teaching the children how to fish, or catching bullfrogs/ turtles to study (catch and release). I am a big nature-lover. I am an avid fisher-woman, excellent swimmer and horseback-rider. My hobby is training/entering my German Shepherd Dogs in Obedience/Conformation Competition). My previous 14 year old female Lexxi, was a UKC Champion, who held 5 titles and 44 awards. She also did therapy work. I’ve also owned cats, ferrets, guinea pigs, rabbits, and a cockatiel named SpongeBob! Although I am no "spring chicken" so to speak, don’t let my age deter you. I am high energy and fit, working 50-60 hours a week caring for children. On the weekends, when I’m not working, you’ll find me running around the dog show ring, or practicing agility. My current 7 month old Kasha, is working on her AKC obedience titles. She has some big paws to fill! I have a Law Enforcement/Animal Control Officer, a Medical/ Medical Computer Systems background and have also worked in the Corporate world. All of those jobs I really enjoyed. But I’m completely happy and comfortable in a private/domestic setting taking care of children and managing a household. I excel at ensuring that the household is running smoothly, and I like putting my excellent organizational skills to work. It is a very gratifying experience for me. To be successful, there needs to be teamwork and open communication. I’m a firm believer in consistency and structure...  I’m professional, comical, considerate of others, a bit of a neat freak and a little bit of a workaholic; and 100% dependable!
