Let me start out by saying that I LOVE children and have based my life around them. I have my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, and my Master’s Degree in Library Science, with a concentration in Children Services. I’ve been a librarian for 24 years now, with much of that time spent as a children’s librarian. I love interacting with babies (and I always did the baby storytimes!), as well as older children. Every age has its own special and wonderful characteristics! I’m very patient, understanding, caring, and loving with children, and I love having fun with them, but I also know when to stick with the boundaries you’ve established. I have three boys, including twin boys whom I’ve successfully raised to college age, and I miss them terribly! I’ve also assisted in the raising of thousands of “my” children at libraries, and I loved every minute of it. There’s Read more nothing like sipping pretend tea at an impromptu tea party one minute, recommending exciting and age-appropriate children’s literature the next minute, and then bouncing a baby on one’s lap while singing to them in a storytime. You can expect reliable, trustworthy, and loving care from me for your little one or ones, with quite a bit of book-reading, too. It’s amazing how much children benefit from someone providing daily reading, even as infants! It results in earlier readers, higher IQs, better standardized testing scores, a much higher chance of going to college, and a more developed sense of empathy.
