I graduated from Ball State University with a B.S. in Elementary Education during May of 2014. Here is a little bit about my experience working with children. July 2015-Present I am a kindergarten teacher for Avon Schools. I love helping kids learn, play, and grow! I am fully COVID-19 vaccinated. I’m looking forward to meeting your family! August 2014 - May 2015 I was an Instructional Assistant at Orchard Park Elementary. My responsibilities include guided reading instruction, writing support for students, co-teaching third grade math, and providing one-on-one support for a kindergartener with special needs. June 2012 - August 2014 I worked as a summer caretaker for two children. I was responsible for planning and cooking meals, providing safe transportation, and the overall well-being of the children while they were in my care. I also created games to interact with the children and keep them actively engaged throughout the day. Read more Each day I set aside a 30 minute independent reading block for the children. I follow up with them by asking questions about what they read while encouraging them to make their own inferences. Two or three days out of the week I set aside time for the children and I to work on math problems together.
