As a fully trained caregiver, my expertise has evolved through a wide variety of activities and enterprises. My passion for providing quality childcare has highlighted most of my life. In my adolescent years I was a volunteer at daycare centers, mother’s helper, and a babysitter. I have always been drawn to assisting families with their children. Childcare was always a significant component of how I spent my time. As a professional nanny, I spent several years being a full time caregiver to children of various ages from 6 weeks old to 7 years. My employment included caring for two sets of twins – not simultaneously, though. I enjoyed working with the families and interacting with the children on a daily basis. As a one on one provider I often recognized the need for socialization outside of the home. Participating in activities like Gymboree and Kindermusic was part of my services. I loved, the day to day activities, the helpfulness to parents, and the ability to assist a child to learn and grow at home. Moving forward, I knew I would one day return to my “childcare roots.” Being a childcare provider holds a special place in my heart. Once I became a mother, I realized that I wanted to offer my childcare services to the community. My family style approach offers a small class size, limited to no more than five children. This enables me to give that one on one nurturing that is a core component of the nanny experience. Learning Patch Childcare caters to families looking for childcare with structure and flexibility. Daily activities are both developmentally and age appropriate. Rather than rely on purchased curriculum that advocates routine and standard activities, we encourage the children to develop personal interests. Our creative projects are designed to stimulate a free flowing imagination, nurtured by communication between caregiver and child.
