I am currently a junior at Ball State with four years of child care experience. I began babysitting for a family friend when I was 16. The family had two children (girl and boy) who were nine and four when I began watching them. I still babysit for that family from time to time. January of my senior year of high school (2013) I worked in the after school program at the Clinton County Boys & Girls Club as a child care supervisor. I played sports related games, board games, lead craft time and helped with snack time. I worked at The Club until I left in August to attend college at Indiana University Kokomo to play volleyball. Before leaving The Club, the months of February-April of 2013 I coach fifth grade girls volleyball in a local spring league. I played volleyball for IUK for two years, where I also Read more volunteered with Kids Fit Camp in July of 2014. I transferred to Ball State in the spring of 2015 due to a back injury and a change in my major. The summer of 2015 I was employed by Manatee County Summer Blast Camp in Bradenton,FL. The camp was set up for children ages 5-13 to spend the day at while their parents worked. I spent most of my time with the five and six year old group, but also had interaction with the 7-13 age groups as well. The camp had daily sport activities, arts & crafts, playground time, swimming, and games. Before beginning work here, I was certified by the Red Cross in CPR and First-Aid. On swimming days I would supervise the children (lifeguards were also present) and once or twice a week I would go on field trips with the campers. Since being back in school and in Muncie, I have spent time volunteering at Motivate Our Minds. Motivate Our Minds is an after school program that assists elementary students with homework.
