Hello, I'm Emily! I've been babysitting since I was twelve. I can work with kids of all ages. Two things I emphasize while I'm babysitting are the parents' rules and the child's consent. I make sure the parents' rules and beliefs are top priority. If I am unsure if the parents will allow something, I always them ask before doing it. I always explain what I am doing to the child, so they understand what's going on. I also ask for the child's consent before I do anything with them, be it picking them up or playing with their toys. I have found that these two things help to gain trust, and children are usually more willing to do things if they are explained to them.
