Hi! My name is Mya, and I love working with children in ways that support their curiosity, confidence, and connection to the world around them. I have experience caring for both infants and toddlers, including nannying for a baby from 4 to 7 months old and toddlers around 18 months to just over 2 years old. I especially enjoy working with toddlers, but I am comfortable caring for multiple children and a range of ages. Before nannying, I worked as a YMCA summer camp counselor in high school, where I supervised large groups of children and helped lead themed weekly activities focused on creativity, teamwork, and outdoor play. My approach is calm, attentive, and child-led. I enjoy engaging with kids through hands-on play, outdoor time, and activities that match their interests and energy. I really value a screen-free environment and helping create a steady, engaging rhythm to the day. I Read more recently completed a Master’s degree in Landscape Systems and Design and hold a B.S. in Brain and Behavioral Sciences from Purdue University. I will be moving to the Longmont area this spring and am available for babysitting starting mid April through mid August, before beginning a Cognitive Neuroscience PhD program focused on researching the benefits of nature for mental health.
