I'm a previously single mom (of 16 yrs - now grown), so I've seen/done pretty much all stages of life. Also, while married, I was a step-parent to a child 8 yrs older than my son as well as my niece who I took guardianship of at the age of 14. (Yes, 3 children with 8 yrs between each!) My son is now grown and dog laid to rest, so I'm interested in helping others while maintaining some of those joys in my own life -- without all the commitment/obligation, of course. Lol My parenting/care style is very common sense and, although filled with downtime for sheer entertainment, I'm also very much about "everyday teaching/learning opportunities", "teaching others (even children) to fish v just giving the fish", etc. I also served as a CASA volunteer for about 7 yrs, then on the BOD another 2. In the past, I've also Read more been CPR and mental health certified. The long 'n short: I'm okay with background checks (I was also cleared by the SEC and NASD as is required to be licensed in various levels of financial services.), I've been cleared by a number of agencies over the years.
