I am an IT professional and work remotely at home majority of the time. My husband, Rich is one of the Managers at the 23rd St Jiffy Lube. We have a 6 years old daughter that I've had home schooled since Kindergarten and she'd excelled tremendously. She finished her K class mid Jan 2015 and started her 1st grade curriculums early this year and will be done with her 1st grade course by the end of this year. We as parents make sure she is provided with the life she deserves and the proper education, not that we feel she wouldn't get the same in public school, but we both felt that having her home schooled was more ideal, since it meant spending more time with her and having her get the one-on-one time with us. We love every second of it. I have always thought my career goal would Read more of been just IT work until one day I was looking for extra local work here in Lawrence and found a position to assist those with special needs. I had applied to a caregiver/house manager position to assist those with development disabilities (no prior experience). I was a bit nervous but I applied the only skills that came natural to me and that was being a mom and the outcome of the 4 years of doing such work was absolutely rewarding. It felt right to assist those in need and making sure they were provided with a quality way of life and being a mom to a 6 year old had taught me all of this, to have a heart of gold; I knew then this was what I wanted to do. I tend to go above and beyond and selfless in the things I do for others and it had been recognized by employer & families of clients' in my care numerous times and I've been awarded for Work of Excellence and Staff of the Year but unfortunately it all came to a halt due to company being closed in Lawrence. I though still keep in touch with the family that I had provided care for. I am actually great friends with the sister & client that was in my care. We both talk daily. (She is listed as one of my references.) I am currently pursuing a BS in Psychology in Applied Behavioral Analysis at Kaplan University and also my Masters in CIS at Boston University. Also soon I will be a licensed care provider (Independent Contractor through CLO) fostering a client in my home. I tend to push forth in what I want and need to get to where I want to go; our bundle of joy is my motivation. If anything else, please do not hesitate to ask! I am ALWAYS available!
