My spirit is 30 years young in spite of what my age says. I'm looking for an after school sitter position or mid day to eve babysitting position. My most recent sitter position was picking up two brothers ( 7 & 8) after school. I would prepare snacks and let them enjoy that while I cleaned lunch boxes and back packs. After they've had their snacks I give them a minute to breathe while I clean up any mess we've made. Then we move to homework where I would help if needed and supervise. I may quiz them for tests. Sometimes I would have to pick up their 4yo brother from day care as well. When homework is finished we would go for walks, read, they would play outdoors if weather permitted, maybe go to the park or on occasion just go for ice cream. The boys had lots of Read more toys too so I needed to make sure they put everything away before parents got home. The last thing a parent wants to see when they walk in the door is any kind of mess. Unfortunately the boys moved to another city. Before these boys I was picking up a 13yo from school. Of course this was more supervising. Mostly I was transporting to and from extra-curricular activities. Lots of times I needed to drop her off and go back to her home and wait until it was time for her to be picked up. If this was the case I would tidy up her room or catch up on her dirty laundry. I also would load or unload the dishwasher and clean up any breakfast dishes. Before this I was doing a lot of the same for 5yo-14yo. I believe in maintaining a fun nurturing but structured environment. I was a Bus Monitor for 5 years before becoming a Para Educator with Olathe School District for 4 years for pre-k thru 8th grade. I worked one on one or in small groups outside of the classroom. I helped with daily lessons from reading to math. I've worked with children with ADHD, Autism and Asperger's Syndrome. I have a passion for education. I'm very good with children and have always possessed the uncanny ability to relate to children of all ages. I have two daughters and three adorable spoiled grandchildren. I'm a very loving, kind hearted and loyal person. I enjoy reading, puzzles, movie and tv trivia and love watching the Chiefs especially Travis Kelce. Children are our treasures and I would treat yours as I would want mine to be treated.
