I have been working directly with kids for 15 years in many different areas of their lives. I've worked with children who have varies needs and specialize in trauma-informed and strength-based care. Currently I am working in mental health, but previously I have worked with foster kids, children with autism, and children with emotional and behavioral stressors. Helping children learn and love who they are is one of my favorite parts of being a sitter. I value open and direct communication with parents and children alike. It's important to treat children as people, and respect their boundaries and ideas just like any other person. No amount of questions is too many and if your child asks "why" 600 times, I will answer as best I can. I'm comfortable with most conversations and will follow your boundaries as best as possible when it comes to what your child eats, watches, or Read more listens to. I believe creativity and curiosity are important opportunities for children to have and I attempt to help them explore those ideals often! While I don't currently have my CPR or First Aid Certification, I have taken the classes many times that I often joke I could teach the classes. I will be working to recertify soon. Just to start our relationship off honestly, I am queer. This will not affect the care of the children in any way and I will respect your views and religious beliefs. I will not push any ideals on your children other than respect for others, self-love, and healthy communication.
