My grandmother was the director of the First United Methodist Nursey School in Santa Monica, California where I would spend days playing and reading to children starting at the age of 13. I married into the military and had three children of my own who are now in their teens. We have all frequently helped watch children of our military friends and still help babysit as well as pet sit/ foster. I have been certified in first aid and CPR numerous times and can provide references upon request. Put simply, I love being around children! They are such a joy and I find happiness in helping provide a safe and nurturing environment for them to learn and grow. I respect their feelings and feel confident in my ability to provide a routine with structure, yet can adjust to their needs if the occasion arises with patience and care.

I am a very recently retired speech- language pathologist with years a years of experience working with children from infancy through adulthood. I have experience working with children who have special needs including autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit disorder, and physical limitations. I raised my own child who has ADHD and high-functioning autism, in addition to being an auntie to a niece who has autism and cerebral palsy and a nephew who has Aspergers. I also know sign language quite well and have used it in a professional capacity. As a former public schools employee, I have been background checked and fingerprinted and I’m happy to provide references! I truly love working with children and their parents.
