Hi there! My name is Amy and I am a 3rd-year undergrad Education and English major at Berea College. I plan on becoming a middle school Language Arts teacher and have extensive experience in childcare and teaching. I grew up in a Montessori-style homeschooling environment which definitely plays a role in how I interact with children. I love hands-on activities, stimulating critical thinking and really getting to know every child I interact with. I have 6 siblings which I have babysat throughout my life, tutored for a service providing test prep for low-income families, worked for two years in my college's tutoring program, student taught at Berea Community Middle School, been a teaching assistant for 2 introductory writing courses, and worked as a teachers assistant at the Boyd and Gaynell Child Development Lab at Berea College.
