working with kids is weirdly my most advanced skill I have to off. I’ve had 3+ jobs working with and managing kids of all ages. I started in high school working after school care programs, then that advanced to working the summer version of said “after school” care programs. While school was going on, the programs was for children whose parents worked late and the summer version was a place for the kids to go while their parents were working. After 2 years of that program, I started working at a place called x-fusion, which was essentially an arcade/obstacle course for kids. Parents would drop them off for a few hours and my job responsibilities were to supervise and assist them while going through obstacle courses, feed them, socialize with them, but mostly keep them safe. And lastly, my mom intensive job working with kids, being a cabin counselor at Read more camp ozark. It’s a huge huge camp in Arkansas for kids ages 4-18. It’s an over night camp and I worked there for 3 months during the summer of 2019. Since it was overnight, I was responsible for any of everything pertaining to my campers. I was basically their guardian. I felt like I got a tiny glimpse at what parenthood was like. (Although I know a short summer camp is no comparison to a lifetime of parenthood. All the respect in the world to moms<3).
