I am the oldest child. Both my parents worked and I had to take care of my 2 baby sisters. I have babysat my whole life. I currently work in the nursery at my church and also teach preschoolers in children’s church. The sad part of babysitting is when they grow up. They don’t need you anymore. I used to be the McDonald’s birthday party hostess. The kids had a blast. In grocery stores kids would run up to me, hug me, and were so excited to see me. (And of course I would be just as excited to see them) I am also equipped to handle that one child that does not like it when their parents leave. I comfort them assure them everything will be ok. Then I start finding things he/she likes till they are happy and smiling again!
