My name is Cheyenne Szymanski, I am 22 years young, and I'm from Lake Charles, La. I began babysitting steadily in 2010 when I got my first babysitting gig, and I loved it. I was the weekend babysitter for one of my high school teachers. She had two kids, ages 3 and 4, and we became good buddies. From there I continued babysitting throughout high school, mainly watching after my newborn cousin in the afternoons. When I went on to my first year of college, I was in an internship that required me to choose a "track" which is essentially a job we had to chose from and write about why we wanted to do it. I chose to teach an after school art class for children 1st-3rd grade. For three months I assisted in planning, and teaching art lessons. We made art, ate snacks, had recess and lots of Read more fun. That summer I taught an inner-city Bible Camp class in Shreveport, La. I had a class of about fifteen 11-12 year olds. I had assigned activities that I implemented to the class. It was probably one of the more challenging childcare experiences I have, but sooo rewarding. I formed very special bonds with my students I will never forget. Later on I began babysitting for a family of 4 children. Ages 6-14. The Mother expressed to me that the kids could be a handful and gave previous babysitters a hard time. Me and these kids were like five peas in a pod. We had the best time together, from setting up tents in the barn to arts and crafts to movie and ice cream nights, we all became the bestest of friends till this day. I think kids are so amazing; watching kids learn is my favorite things in the whole world. From learning about themselves, learning about how to treat others, learning about right from wrong, I think its the most beautiful thing ever.
