I am an undergraduate student at Emerson College studying speech and language pathology which focuses heavily on child development of language. I am a very hard worker who is hoping to stay in Boston through the first half of the summer. I will be moving between Boston and Cape Cod the rest of the summer. In the past, I have taken a child development class, early education class, language acquisition, phonetics (the acquisition of speech sounds) and extensive professional training for child care. In addition to my education, I have experience in the classroom as a preschool assistant. I am a Jumpstart Corps Member and future team leader. That means I work in a preschool 15 hours a week to help promote literacy skills in disadvantaged communities of Boston. I have also worked at a preschool that is open during summers as a teacher's assistant for a classroom of 16 Read more 2-3 year olds. Besides that, I have babysat on and off since I was 13 for kids of all ages (youngest 10 months and oldest 10 years). I have always enjoyed working with children. My neighbor and former employer (I was a mother's sitter at age 11) could always rely on me to know where all 6 kids were. Since then, I have been interested in the education of children, which led me to speech pathology. I plan on working with children for the rest of my life.
