I'm Lucia Navarro, a senior at UMass Amherst. I would love to tell you a little bit about myself! First of all, I'm double majoring in special education and psychology and absolutely LOVE children. I have had a lot of experience with children throughout my life and definitely want to have more during my college career! I am originally from Spain and I moved to the United States two years and a half ago with my whole family because my mom got a job at MIT. When I lived in Spain, I used to volunteer at my high school during my breaks by spending time with 3-6 year old kids during their lunch time. When I moved to the United States, I found a family with 4 kids that needed a babysitter and I have been babysitting them for about 2 years. I usually pick their children up from school, Read more do homework with them, cook for them, go outside to play with them and when needed I also help with house cleaning, laundry, ironing... Moreover, when I was in high school (and also at UMass), I'm a member of Best Buddies, which is an organization that helps children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, so I have had a lot of experience with that too. I speak 4 languages: Spanish, English, French and German and some of the things I like doing are: traveling, dancing, listening to music, cooking, and spending time with my friends and family.
