Hello! My name is Sarah, and I'm a sophomore at NYU. I've always had a passion for working with and being around children, and would love to continue doing so this summer! Growing up with a younger brother really helped to foster my love of activities like arts and crafts, cooking and baking, reading (usually in silly voices!), and playing games, both indoors and outdoors. This past semester, I worked at a preschool in Manhattan through the Jumpstart program. Here, I taught 3-4 year olds how to read and write, but also spent a lot of time singing songs, conducting science experiments, and playing dress-up in our dramatic play center. This job built on my already-existing experience with younger children, and helped me learn how to solve conflicts between children, keep kids engaged in exciting activities, and I can definitely say that working with 20 very energetic kids has strengthened Read more my patience a lot! Before college, I spent 5 years working as a Religious Education instructor at my local church. Here, I worked with a lot of different age groups, ranging from 3-12 year olds. I planned lessons, organized activities and field trips, and created a lot of fun games to play with the kids. I've received extensive training in early childhood development, and I've taken classes on developmental psychology. I'm certified in CPR and trained in First Aid, and I am very responsible and focused, especially when it comes to supervising children. I am a good cook, and am capable and willing to help with cleaning and errands around the home. My schedule is very flexible and I would be readily available for babysitting throughout the summer. Most importantly though, I have a ton of energy and a big passion for making babysitting fun for the kids!
