I am a former elementary school teacher with 20 years experience working with children in different settings. I love being with children and getting to know what is unique about each child. I have been a family day care provider, an educational consultant, a specialist at Boston Children's Museum, and a reading tutor. I have a daughter who is thirteen. Now that she is older, I miss spending time with young children. I enjoy reading books, engaging in dramatic play, exploring nature, building, playing games and doing art projects with children. When I babysit, I try to bring activities that will be interesting and exciting for the children I spend time with. If a child has a particular interest such as, "pirates" or "rocks" I can plan activities around that interest which incorporate art, literacy, math, science, etc., without the child even knowing. I would love to babysit for a Read more family on a regular basis so I can establish a relationship with them. However, I am also happy to babysit one time, as well. I charge 20.00 for one to two children and add additional 5.00 for more than two children. I look forward to hearing from you! I just joined Sittercity recently so I have not had time to get references. But, I have many.
