I have been working with and caring for children for over ten years. I began babysitting at the age of twelve, and since have cared for children in their homes ranging from ages one month to thirteen years. When in high school, I worked as a full-time summer nanny and a part-time after school nanny for two children between the ages of five and twelve. I was responsible for providing them with breakfast and lunch, keeping the house clean, and insuring that homework was completed during the school year. We had a lot of fun doing arts and crafts, reading together, and making up games using our imaginations and things from around the house. I am currently employed as a classroom aid at Oak Middle School in Shrewsbury. There I work with the special education teacher to create innovative ways to help access the curriculum. I graduated from Clark University last spring with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and my coursework there gave me a deep understanding of the principals of learning and how they apply to children of all ages. I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Special Education.
