I have been working with kids in some capacity ever since I was old enough to be a mother's helper and counselor in training at age 12. Now, 15+ years later, I still absolutely love spending time with kids. I have wonderful relationships with the kids I've babysat for over the years and their families. I always encourage kids to be curious, creative, and wacky! All that said, I understand the importance of setting limits and am comfortable supervising children and teens according to family "rules" in a kind, but firm way. Crafting is my specialty. I have tons of supplies and love teaching kids to create fun projects. I also love to be outdoors and am happy to run around, play frisbee, basketball, fly a kite... anything! While babysitting, I am more than happy to help with homework. Anything other than advanced math is fair game! I have experience Read more with and particularly enjoy helping kids with their writing skills. For teens, I can help study for the SAT verbal and writing sections. On a more fun note... I am familiar with many awesome activities in the Cambridge and Boston area, and am always up for an adventure! I do not have a car, but I do have a driver's license and a clean driving record. This past Spring I graduated from Emerson College with a master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. I am in the process of starting a business, and my schedule is somewhat flexible when I don't have meetings scheduled. I am more than happy to provide references privately, but like to give a heads-up that someone may be contacting them before giving out their information for references since they are very busy with full-time jobs and their own kids!
