Hi everyone! My name is Madeleine, I’m 24 years old, and I recently moved to Boston for a new job at Harvard Business Publishing. I am a reliable, patient, and empathetic babysitter with over 8 years of experience caring for children ages 2-13. While I’m babysitting, I’m dedicated to remaining positive and fully engaged with your children during every minute of their care (aka, I won’t be texting or scrolling Instagram while I’m with your little ones!) so you can feel comfortable and relaxed going to date night knowing your kiddos are in good hands. I’m extremely passionate about helping children learn, grow, and succeed academically, socially, and emotionally, so I love to incorporate fun learning games into playtime. My experience includes: 1. During my senior year of college, I was a full-time nanny for a two year old and her wonderful family. During my year and a half of Read more care, I nannied overnight and spent weekends watching Chloe when her parents went out of town, went on short trips with the family, and loved watching Chloe grow intellectually and emotionally during my time with her. Being able to teach Chloe and help her learn about the world around her was an experience that I’ll never forget, and I still stay in contact with the family after I moved away! 2. Led creative writing camp for 10 second grade students, helping them grow in their reading and writing abilities. 3. Worked as a camp counselor for three years for K-3rd grade children (and voted counselor of the year for two of those years!) What makes me a great sitter: 1. Can handle difficult situations with confidence and ease 2. Always finding unique, creative ways to incorporate learning with play 3. Encourages children to engage with the world around them and discover their gifts and strengths 4. Physically active and eager to run, jump, and play with children without tiring––and will have fun while doing it! 5. Perceptive and quick to pick up on emotional or physical discomfort and respond/adapt as neede 6. Empathetically listens and responds to a child's emotions with patience, kindness, and respect. 7. Cleans up after play and keeps home organized and tidy. 8. Eager to help with dishes, laundry, and other household tasks!
