I am an older sister for a brother who is 6 years younger than me. Growing up I had a lot of duties by providing cooked meals, taking my brother to camp, sport practices, and school. During my highschool years I also signed up at my community youth services program to tutor kids twice a week for two hours. I helped them out with homework for an hour and then I played games for the extra hour. This was an unpaid service that I did in order to keep myself busy and gain experience with kids. I have done plenty of babysitting in my hometown Glenview, and some in Northbrook. Since I want to pursue a teaching job I have been a nanny of two young boys for over 4 years on thursdays. I've gained a lot simply by staying with them, wanting to keep them busy and teaching them Read more Spanish ( which their parents love). Since I am Bilangual, I teach as a sub-teacher at a program called 'Language Stars'. I love this so much because seeing kids learn at such a young age and how to speak a whole new language amazes me. I believe I am a good role model because I find myself to be a very kind and friendly person. I never have problems with people as my parents raised me to be a polite and respectful person. I tend to be very low maintenance, balanced person. I like to work out , go to yoga, paint at home, and interact with people. Overall, I can give a good example to the kids who I am babysitting and spending time with. This results in making it easier for the parents, the kids, and myself by having a good time.
