Hi, I'm Betsy. I have been working with young children for over 35 years as a teacher and a babysitter. My most recent position was a nanny for a family for 5 years. I started when the 5 year old was 2 months. After about two years, the twins arrived! I was responsible for caring for a three year old and twin infants up until the children were 5 and 3. The children all went off to school this fall and I miss them dearly. I also miss having rewarding experiences with young children. I have been a professional Early Childhood Educator for about 3 years. I have wprked primarily with children from 6m to 3y but have a bit of experience with children up to 8 years old. I stepped back from working full time at schools to spend more time with my two little ones, ages 3 and 5. I have worked one on one with children and in larger group settings with anywhere from 5-10 children. Many of my old students families have also utilized me for private babysitting on weekends/holidays. Unprofessionally, I have cared for children for over 10 years- family, neighborhood kids, etc.

Beyond independently babysitting in the summertime for a number of families, my mother actually runs an in-home daycare and has been for years and years — so I've been caring for children almost every day growing up, with kids as young as 3 months old and up.
