I am the youngest of seven kids with a mother who also took foster children and ran a home daycare.  I love children and have been around them for my pretty much my entire life.  I began when I was 15 assisting my mother with her home daycare and then went on to become lead teacher at a friend's home daycare.  I left working there only to care for my two sister's children when they decided not to put them into daycare.  I became their stay at home Auntie and took them to the zoo and library play groups and out for lots of other outdoor activities.  I love being an Aunt and arranging many activities for 8 nephews and 2 nieces from Easter Egg Hunts to camping trips.  I have also worked at the St Mary's after school program as an assistant coordinator for two years. I have worked with my afternoon family going on 6 years and was an overnight newborn care expert until May of 2020 when my 7 year old adoptive daughter moved in. It has been a whirlwind since then but now that she is back in school full time it is time for me to also find more consistency. Overall, I just love being with children and have found it very rewarding to be able to watch and help them to grow into the amazing individuals they each are.

Your infant, your child, is unique. That uniqueness is what fuels my passion for childcare. I love learning and discovering each child's personality, likes, dislikes, interests, curiosity, eventually hobbies and passions. For me it's fun to engage with a child based on those unique qualities. I have extensive experience with infants, even twins, and I'm a former high school/middle school teacher, so I have experience with older kids, too. My education experience has made me especially adept at interesting kids in outdoor and non-screen activities. Both my grad and undergrad degrees were in English, and I've taught English, ESL (English as a Second Language), and Spanish. I enjoy tutoring and am willing to help children with homework if desired. Currently a Special Ed teaching assistant, I do have some experience with children with special needs though am not certified. I am willing to provide care for children with special needs when parents feel I'm a good fit for their child. I really enjoy kids! They are naturally authentic and interested in the world. I studied Math and Education in college, and got teaching experience in classrooms ranging from kindergarten to high school. I got certified to teach secondary math, and went on to do a year of Americorps service after college. I moved to Boston in 2007 and began babysitting until I figured out what was next. I enjoyed what I was doing so much that I went on to become a full time nanny the following year. I worked for three years for a family with three children- ages 2, 5, and 7 when I started. After the youngest was off to kindergarten, I took a new position, a nanny share caring for two 2-year old girls. I’ve also babysat for multiple families over the years ranging from overnights with infant twins to school vacation help for 12-year olds. I taught the preschool class at my church for 5 years as well. In October 2012, I had a daughter of my own! I began bringing her along to babysitting/ nanny positions, which worked out quite well. In 2019, after working as a nanny/ babysitter for 12 years, I transitioned to teaching. I worked as an assistant in a combined Pre-K/Kindergarten class for four years before becoming the lead teacher of a separate Pre-K class.
