Hi everyone! I am 24 years old and recently graduated the University of New Hampshire, with my Masters in Elementary Education and Bachelor's in Human Development and Family Studies. I have always loved children, I have 3 younger siblings and my mom runs a home daycare! I have many years of experience babysitting, nannying, and working in child care settings as well as public schools. I love to plan fun activities for the kids while helping out the parents! The majority of my education and career has been focused on learning and practicing effective ways of working with children. My first job in high school was being a teaching assistant for religious classes and then working at a daycare. I continued to explore careers with children working as a teaching assistant in public schools and as a tutor while studying in college. I received my master's degree in counseling psychology with a concentration in working with children and families. I was a mental health counselor for about 10 years and enjoyed the work that I did with children. In the last 5 years, I went back to tutoring, babysitting and working with developmentally disabled individuals to help them build social skills, emotion regulation skills and independent living skills. I have found that it is very important to build a trusting relationship with children and always to build off of their strengths. Children and individuals with disability thrive in a positive environment that has both structure and gives them some flexibility to make their own choices and explore their interests.
