Hi there! I'm a 30-year old woman with 15 years of experience caring for children of all ages, but with a strong focus on infants and very young children, as well as professional experience caring for those from birth to age three. My passion for taking care of tiny babies led me to study occupational therapy and work in the Early Intervention program at Hasbro Children's Hospital (a home-based program helping children from birth to age 3 with medical and developmental issues develop to their fullest potential despite their challenges). I then moved to Guatemala for four years to work at an infant malnutrition hospital and several other infant and child health and education programs, before returning home last June. My background in both child development and pediatric healthcare equips me to provide a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment that goes above and beyond what one might expect from a Read more typical baby-sitter. I am a fully licensed and certified occupational therapy assistant that has worked primarily in pediatrics. I have a deep appreciation for how critical those earliest months and years are for little ones, and enjoy using my experience and skills to ensure that I am giving them all the love, developmental stimulation, and security they need to grow and develop to their fullest. It is very rewarding for me to provide childcare and know that my warmth, energy, and creativity are helping a very young child grow into their happiest, best little self. I am looking primarily for part-time work, as I do have a per diem position working with adults with developmental disabilities that I really enjoy, but would be open to full-time for the right family/situation. The ideal family for me would have a newborn or infant that needs care 1-3 days per week (though I could help out from time to time with additional days if needed), and up to two older siblings. I am available most weekends for date nights, especially if given advance notice, and am happy to provide occasional babysitting for families who simply want to get out from time to time with full confidence that their child is safe and well-cared for at home. Thanks so much for taking the time to read about me. I am happy to answer any questions you may have and provide references from past families. Best of luck in your childcare search!
