Hi! My name is Lauren and I hail from a background in school safety and emergency preparedness. 🎒Let me tell you why I would be a great match for your kid/s. I have a wide array of interests from design and art, any outdoor recreation, cooking, history, fiction fanatic, and technology. My sense of humor makes kids comfortable, and my wild imagination keeps them entertained. 🪁I connect intuitively with children, and aim to strike a balance between physical and mental activity, while identifying cues for downtime. I am immensely goofy, creative, an avid reader, TV-averse, a champion of silly stories, and can make yummy balanced meals! 👩‍🚒 Most recently, I am a seasonal wildland firefighter for the federal government. This summer I am taking a break after several intense years, and recalibrating while staying at my parents house in Needham. 🚙 I have a clean, well-maintained 2010 Honda Odyssey with Read more a clean driving record, and I am a confident city driver, even with a car full of energetic kids! I have passed several driving exams and driving courses for work. Additional relevant background: 🦺 ⛑️Pre-Firefighting I was a crisis response specialist for schools of all sizes, guiding them through any type of emergency or disaster alongside first responders. I have been a CPR/First Aid/Search and Rescue instructor for educators, and I regularly receive training and volunteer for Red Cross and FEMA. As a post-grad I worked as an EMT in the Middle East. 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦Pre-Covid, I spent several years nannying long-term between two families, one of which has a child with severe mental and physical disabilities, and this is where I learned to care for a child, rather than just babysit. I have also been babysitting or a camp counselor since age 12. Looking forward to meeting a great family!
