I have worked with kids of all ages from months old to 15 years old. A lot of my job involved communication not only with the kids, but the parents as well in their schedules or time out. Consistently watching over kids while managing other aspects of the children and the families lives such as appointments, chores, and bringing the kids to the places they have to be, takes a lot of organization skills, communication, and multi-tasking abilities. Having those skills has helped greatly. I grew up on Martha's Vineyard which is where my experience began. I would bring the children to camps, do chores, laundry, make snacks, homework etc. and anything else that was necessary for the child's needs & well-being, and in addition doing anything I can to assist the parent(s) as well. I have a BS in psychology which has also helped me gain extensive understanding of Read more the development of children, how to effectively communicate with them, and to understand their basic needs. I will be getting my MA in clinical psychology as well. When I am with your child or children it is entirely about their well being, safety, and happiness. It is also about communication with the parents in any case whether emergency or uncertainty because it’s best to clarify never guess. I am going to be getting my CPR & first aid certifications, although I have had them previously I know it’s super important to have a refresher and be certified. 2 children is preferable but depending on the ages, 3 is the max I would be comfortable with ( car safety and my ability to keep as good of a watch as I need to have ) Thank you and I hope you’ll give me the opportunity to care of your child/children.
