Relative Work Experience: I am a part-time employee at a Family Shelter in Boston. As a Resident assistant my responsibilities include providing child care assistance/baby sitting children while parents/clients are at work, school or attending case management meetings. Children who are left under my supervision range from the ages of 3 years old to 5 years old. I encouraged the children to participate in reading, coloring, movies, snack time, and other activities. Prior to working at the family shelter I was a Residential Aide for 10 clients who were adults with disabilities, which I responsible for their physical wellness. I completed task such as conducting hourly bed checks confirming that all residents were sound and complacent; promptly responded to call bells concerning any request or concerns. I also assisted with toileting including changing of depends, bed pan, commode, urinals, and out of bed to bathroom transfers. I am certified in First-Aid and CPR through American Heart Association. Personal Background: I am a Boston native with Latino parents. English being my first language and Spanish-creole my second. I am a part-time college student who plans to become a full-time student in the near future. I am majoring in Social Science. Recently I was working two jobs until I finally decided to put education first. Thus my reasoning to become a part of the Sittercity community where flexibility meets employment and client satisfaction. On my spare time I enjoy indulging in spoken word/poetry, good music, good vibes and occasionally catching up on Roseanne the late 80s-90's hit television show. I am the second youngest of four siblings. Hence my immunity to name calling, cootie catching, and colorful marker wars!
