I’m a single mother of my 24-year-old daughter. I have a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (K-3). While obtaining my degree, I worked as a Supervising Lifeguard & Swim Instructor. Immediately following graduation, I successfully opened & operated a Family Daycare for 23 yrs. caring for children ages 8 wks-7 yrs. During this time, I provided emergency foster care & respite care for newborns-10 yrs, including children with special needs. I was Co-Owner/Director & Lead Teacher of a Preschool for 8 yrs. In addition, I was a volunteer at Marblehead Little Theatre as Child Manager during rehearsals & shows for ages 3-14 for 7 yrs. For the past 13 yrs I’ve been working as a Nanny caring for children 2 months -11 yrs. At my most recent long term Nanny position of 3.5 yrs I cared for a wonderful child who starts school full time in September. I am Read more still working with this family while interviewing with new prospective families looking to hire a Full/Part Time Babysitter. Prior to this family, I worked full time with a family with 2 beautiful children for 6+yrs. I have always been passionate about caring for & teaching young children. Over the past 33 yrs, I have learned so much from these children. I recognize the importance of structure & routine for child(ren) to feel safe & secure within their growing & learning environments. As their sense of security grows, child(ren) will learn to trust; security & trust are the building blocks of a happier, healthier, more positive growing experience which will help to develop a strong sense of being, a strong self worth & a positive self-esteem, all of which are necessary for child(ren) to be successful in school & throughout their life. I find it very rewarding knowing I assisted a child in reaching his/her full potential physically, intellectually, emotionally & socially as he/she progresses through each stage of development. My respect for how special young children are creates an atmosphere of caring, delight, wonder & excitement, which creates a stimulating environment where children will flourish & grow while having fun. I know children learn from positive role models, so when I treat them with respect, they will, in return, respect me. I believe all children have the potential to succeed, they just need respectful, nurturing people & programs in their lives who will bring out the best in them. I would love to have the opportunity to care for & teach your child. I will furnish references upon request.
