Ola, my name is Maddy! I am a senior at the University of Vermont, originally from Taunton, Massachusetts. I am studying English literature and Art History. Throughout high school and on breaks from college, I worked at the Taunton Public Library in the Youth Services department. Throughout my time there I worked with children of all ages, from toddlers to middle-grade. I helped them with homework, answered their questions, and helped them with book recommendations. I also co-ran and supervised various library programs such as Lego Club, Art Club, and Movie Nights. My experience as a library page has taught me how to interact with children in order to teach and learn from them. I am passionate about bringing positive change to communities through community arts programs and through reading. When I am at UVM, I work part-time as a curatorial assistant at an art museum and write for the Read more Arts section of my school newspaper. I have been babysitting for the same family since I was in middle-school, whenever the parents needed to go out for a date-night or had to work the same shifts. Their daughters are now eleven and thirteen, but I have babysat for them since they were four and six. I own a cat and a dog, so I am comfortable with taking care of pets. I also own a license, car, and a clean driving record.
