Hello! My name is Mikayla, and I am a 29-year-old mother of two wonderful children, ages 12 and 9. I have over 10 years of professional childcare experience working with children ranging from newborns to 8 years old, including experience caring for multiple children at once. I love taking the children out to do activities and see places, doing arts and crafts and being creative, being outside in nature and reading! Currently, I work as a professional nanny. Prior to nannying, I worked as an infant and toddler teacher at a private childcare center and spent three years as an assistant teacher at a Head Start preschool program. My background in both classroom and in-home care has given me strong experience supporting children’s development through nurturing, engaging, and age-appropriate care. I am pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education and actively continuing my coursework to further expand my knowledge and Read more skills. I am certified in First Aid and CPR for infants through adults, fully vaccinated, and willing to complete a CORI/background check. I am passionate about creating a safe, supportive, and fun environment where children can learn, grow, and feel genuinely cared for. Additionally, I have worked all of my years in early childhood education in programs inspired by Reggio Emilia. The Reggio Emilia approach values the belief that children are strong, competent and capable citizens who are full of wonder and curiosity to learn. I have hundreds of hours of training (and certificates) on how to build emerging curriculum and implement child-led/play based learning. This means whatever your child is interested in, it’s my job to help them go the extra mile in being able to explore that interest(s). I am here to work collaboratively with your child(ren) to help them learn and explore the world around them.
