Hello! My name is Meg. Currently, I am a first grade teacher in an inner city school. I also tutor a fourth grade students on a weekly basis. Additionally, I am a nonprofit foundation committee member and the sole volunteer coordinator for the charity, which supports structured youth sports and heart awareness. I am a hockey fan, ballerina, runner, and arts and crafts designer. I spend my free-time traveling the world, boating, fishing, skiing, and relaxing with family and friends. Teaching is in my heart, thus, I have taken up every opportunity possible to work with children. As for babysitting experiences, I had a long-term nanny position with a family of three children for approximately 5 years, until they became old enough to care for themselves. I have occasionally babysat for two of my neighbors throughout the past 5 years, as well as three different family friends. Additionally, I occasionally Read more care for my younger cousins, ages 3 and 5. Through the English and elementary education degrees I studied, I often worked with children in a classrooms through student teaching while I learned about children in the classroom. Through school, I worked with children from various ages (3-14) and became a certified elementary education teacher in May 2014. While studying, I was a nanny after school, 3 to 4 days a week, for a 7-year-old child, picking him up from school, transporting him to various sports practices, playing, and making dinner. I was employed January 2013 to December 2014; I left the area of employment for my school's winter break and could not return to the regularly scheduled position due to a daily student teaching. Last summer, I babysat for a 7-month-old, taught second grade and high school, and volunteered two days a week at a preschool. From now until June 19, I am available after school days (anytime past 4), and anytime on the weekends. I am avidly searching for a summer child care position, preferably flexible schedule/on call and/or about 3 days a week. If you would like any additional information, or a reference from my current teaching position, please do not hesitate to contact me.
