Meet Noriana

I am 25 year’s old and almost done with my undergraduate degrees in Neuroscience and Bioengineering. I’ve worked for medical nonprofits as well as labs at University of Maryland and FDA. Most of my work was on developing more accurate computer models of the brain. I have experience caring for elementary aged kids and enjoy keeping them engaged and entertained whether through making up games with them, playing board games, and/or playing outside. I also have experience tutoring kids from elementary school to high school aged - so I like to incorporate learning and educational games in a way that is fun with the goal of making kids like to learn. I try to find what interests them and foster learning and subsequent interests from there - even if it means learning something new myself! For example, one child I worked with was really interested in learning chess, which I Read more only knew some very basics of. But I took that as an opportunity for us to learn together. I’m comfortable following the kids’ routine, including cooking for them and doing bedtime routines (getting them ready for bed on time, reading bedtime stories, etc.). I also am comfortable cleaning up kids toys as well as doing light house-keeping tasks like dishes, laundry, and making the kids snacks. I’m available both weekdays and weekends semi-regularly and depending on the fit, can work out a more regular care schedule.
