Hi! My name is Sarah, I'm a 22-year-old graduate student at the University of Maryland pursuing a Master's in Public Policy. I was the president of UMD's on-campus student-run crisis hotline, the UMD Help Center, where I volunteered for all four years of undergrad. The past 6 summers I have volunteered at Camp Sunshine, a camp/retreat for families with a child with a life-threatening illness. I have experience working with kids of all ages and abilities. Also in my undergrad career, while I was abroad for a semester in South Africa at the University of Cape Town, I also had the opportunity to work with children from informal settlements in an after-school tutoring program. I currently intern at the Homeless Children's Playtime Project in Washington, DC and work part time as an Academic Advisor at UMD.
