Caring for children is engrained in my being. As the eldest of 10 cousins and one younger sister, I am accustomed to engaging with and being responsible for those younger than me. When I began caring for children that were not members of my family, I quickly learned that not every child has the same interactions with those older than them. Trust must be built between the adult and the child in order for the relationship to grow. My babysitting experience started a year ago when I began caring for an 8-year-old. My duties included: picking her up from school, assisting her with her homework, and taking her to ballet practice. This then led to me watching a group of three students of different ages (a 2-year-old, an 8-year-old and a 9-year-old). In addition to my sitting experience I teach at an after school program in elementary schools in Virginia. Read more My rate for one kid is $19 per hour and for two kids, $20 per hour.
