I have cared for my brother since birth; Changing diapers and feeding a child requires great commitment, but there is fun in it. I have also cared for my neighbors kids and catered to their needs. I worked as a nutrition assistant for Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (in collaboration with the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and College Park) for two years: This is a summer program that teaches kids from K-12 grades about their health; incorporating nutritional lessons and physical activities. I and my partner came up with a lesson plan for each day at different camp sites in Salisbury, Pocomoke, Princess Anne and Hebron MD, informing the kids about the different food groups and ways they can keep active and keep the doctor away. This enrichment program was great because I taught a class of about 15-20 kids. I was able to teach and learn from Read more the kids while having fun. I do not have a pHD in caring for kids but I know that caring for each kid means paying attention to their personalities and coming up with a care plan for each one. I like to ask the kids about problems they face in school be it with classes, conflicts with other students or with bullying. I tutor them and give them advice. I also keep in mind the saying " too much work without play makes Jack a dull boy". I like soccer and can come up with fun and safe games to play with the kid(s). With a little guidance, love and fun, the day and night turns out just fine.
