Hello I’m Deva ! I have recently graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Hearing and Speech Sciences. I am hoping to continue my education in Speech Pathology. Right now I am working as an In-home instructor for Trellis Services ; this position allows me to utilize my strong educational background in communication disorders as well as unique creativity and social skills while working with the autistic community. I also have experience as a clinician at the Children’s Developmental Clinic at UMD and have babysat for children with developmental and learning delays. This experience gives me and upper hand in the areas of patience and understanding. I have 11 years of babysitting experience and have been regularly babysitting a 9 year old boy and a 12 year old girl. Throughout the 11 year span that I have worked with this particular family I have watched these two Read more children grow, and it has given me a chance to work with all age groups. I also come from a rather large family and I am always surrounded by children. I like to participate in outdoor activities and creative projects like baking and arts and crafts with the children I babysit. I’m not the biggest fan of television and feel like it is more fun to work as a team when mom and dad are away. Deva came and babysat for our infant (4 months) and toddler (2 years) while we stayed in DC. She was very communicative, showed up on time and was wonderful playing with our 2 year old while he had a bath and got put to bed. She also put the infant down to sleep and kept him happy throughout the night. I called her reference who raved about her and can also now highly recommend her.
