I am 25 years old and currently working as a Communications & Development Assistant at a small organization in Orono, Maine. I graduated from the University of Maine with a bachelor's in Psychology and a minor in English. I would like to be able to pursue my dreams of writing creatively and being published. I truly enjoy being around kids. I love visiting with my little cousins and the kids of some of my older friends. During school I worked as a lifeguard and taught swim lessons on a regular basis. The swim lessons were always the highlight of my day! I also filled in at the daycare program that my boyfriend's mother runs. I have been trained in CPR and first aid, as well as fingerprinted in order to coach swim at Old Town High School. I grew up in the area and have always enjoyed being outside. My Read more parents own enough land to have walking trails behind their house, and I still walk my puppy out there when I am able. I love to hike or walk, even in the winter. I regularly snowshoe in the winter. I would love to be able to bring your children out to play during any season. Inside I would happily play their favorite games, do crafts and read. I have always loved to read, and believe that it is important to encourage kids to read or listen to an adult reader. I love to cook, and would feel comfortable preparing snacks and meals for the kids. I think that consistency is key in things like teaching or coaching, watching kids, and even training puppies! I would respect your parental guidelines and the routines set up in your household. I believe that I could be a positive figure in the kids lives, as I am educated, polite, consistent and responsible. However, I don't feel that I am too formal or rigid. I am imaginative, compassionate, and have a good sense of humor. I would be silly and entertaining too. Some of my favorite childhood memories include playing dress-up and charades with my old babysitter. I know that watching children will be a big responsibility and that their health and safety should come first. If you feel that I might be a good babysitter I would love to meet with you. I would also love to meet your children to be sure that I am the best fit for them. Choosing someone to spend time with your kids is an important decision, and I want them to have the best sitter for their needs.
