Hi! My name is Whitney and I'm a college student at the University of Michigan. I love working with kids, but the majority of my work has been unpaid: I volunteered at an orphanage for 12 years, a K-12 school for 8 years, and I have a lot of younger cousins that I had to look after growing up. When my baby siblings were born when I was 13 and 14, I had a full-time job taking care of them and their friends. My parents were not home a lot, so I would look after them and find new and creative ways to teach and have fun with them. It wasn't until I came to college that I started to take this on as a job. I worked as a childcare assistant at a local gym looking after children while parents were exercising, which I loved!
