Hello! My name is Katie Snowday and I am a current college student at the University of Michigan. I am a reliable, dynamic, and ready-to-play babysitter, with years of experience in childcare and an academic background in education. This past summer I held a teaching assistant and camp counselor position at the Interlochen Summer Arts Camp, working round the clock with high school age students. In my role I fostered a safe, fun, and routine-oriented living space in my cabin, and worked in a leadership position during the day. At the University of Michigan I have studied early-education through a multicultural and community based pedagogy. I also served as a Mentor in the Umich chapter of Ballet and Books where we had the opportunity to lead a ballet class combined with one-one literacy work in a free, weekly program for preschool age children. I have experience in large group logistics Read more management and cross departmental communication through two summers experience as the 'Backstage Xperience Coordinator' at the Barn Theatre in Augusta, Michigan. This program gave young students a behind the scenes look at the production of live theatre, and discounted tickets to the show they had learned about. I have several years of babysitting work for three families with children ranging 2-13 yrs old. I always keep safety my utmost priority, am able to engage with any age group, make babysitting a positive experience so kids are excited for the next visit, prioritize active engagement over screens, and redirection over reprimand.
