I have been babysitting my 8 beautiful nieces and 1 nephew since I started high school, along with other local families children. After graduating high school I took time off from school and spent a year as a nanny (au pair) in Germany for four boys ages 2 months to 8 years. I was able to spend a year as their full time nanny learning German and teaching them English. As an Au Pair I lived in the families home and was able to see the kids even on my time off, we went on vacations together and I participated in school events, taking the kids to practices and grocery shopping along with light housework duties. I spent mornings with the baby, from 8 a.m.- 3 p.m. and then picked up one from kindergarten and the two oldest from the bus stop and took care of them until the parents Read more arrived home at dinner time. We enjoyed going to the beach and the park when the weather was nice or going sledding on a hill near the house during the snowy months. I was blessed to see the youngest hit all his first year mile markers, the 3 year old become fully potty trained, the 6 year old's first day of school, and the oldest's first communion. I thought when I came back I would feel to much heartache after saying goodbye to them to want to become a nanny again but in reality my heart has never been more open to the idea. I know I am fairly young and do not have any formal training or impressive certificates but I know I can take care of and love your children and help them grow. My dream is to one day be fortunate enough to be a mother and have children of my own, but for now I would like to share in the journey of other parents like yourselves and make your job just a little easier. I love interacting with kids any age, seeing how they learn and grow everyday and being able to be a part of shaping their view of the world. It is a beautiful thing to be able to see the world through a child's eyes and it always reminds me of the good in the world.
