I've babysat for my mothers friends since I was 13, in addition to basic babysitting gigs I have a 6 year old brother and 2 year old sister. Both of my parents work over 40 hours a week so a lot of the time the children are with me. If my parents work early I take them to school and most days I pick them up. I try to take my brother to as many kids events in the area to keep him active and also get him to interact with kids socially. With the nice weather we've been getting we have started weekly trips downtown to walk/ride bikes, play at the park, and have a snack or lunch. I try to keep them active in some way everyday, if we get bored with walks sometimes we'll play basketball or soccer in the backyard. Aside from outdoors we play trucks, Read more board games, Wii, Legos (I could build just about anything with my eyes closed) lots of dance parties, and arts and crafts when I can get my brother to agree to it. We practice reading and writing, I try to find fun learning games on Pinterest. I've been caring for them day in and day out since I was sixteen, I've learned what works and what doesn't and learned that it's different for every child. I love the being apart of process and love watching them grow!
