My name is Alexis C. Jones and I am graduate from Oakland Community College achieving degrees in Liberal Arts and General Studies. Now that I have achieved my once short term goals—I am furthering my academic career in Elementary Education with a concentration in Early Childhood Education at Wayne State University. While studying Elementary Education I’ve worked in various early childhood education institutes and grade level schools. Throughout my teaching journey, I’ve taught students from different demographics, cultures, religions, and languages, which has allowed me to be creative and unique in my teaching approach. I have a passion for children and teenagers; as an educator I look forward to meeting new students from different backgrounds and society’s learning from them as they learn from me. My energetic and exciting approach to teaching keeps students engaged and eager to learn. Although, I have an enthusiastic approach to teaching; I believe in Read more maintaining a well-organized and behaved classroom implementing fun and thrilling academic, social, cognitive, math, art, and science activities—it is my goal that students of all ages will develop a passion for learning, communicating, and taking on foreign task with confidence and delight. During my first opportunity in the field of early childhood education, I was employed as an infant teacher at Jumpstart Learning Center Home Daycare. I had the pleasure of nurturing, matriculating, and assisting students in discovering the new world around them from birth to two years old. My responsibilities as an infant teacher included making sure the needs of each student were met physically, emotionally, and academically while teaching basic skills such as holding a bottle, crawling, walking, bathroom training, using small motor skills, using fine motor skills, speech development, identifying shapes, colors, understanding and heeding basic commands. I accomplished the various responsibilities through songs, games, academic television illustrations, dancing, and visual demonstration. Considering my experience the field of early childhood education and love for helping children and families, I would be great assest to your family.
