Hi there! My name is America Yahya, I'm a lifelong Detroiter, I am of Arab descent, and I am Muslim. Currently, I'm a senior at Wayne State University studying Sociology and Anthropology, am a part-time caretaker of my elderly parents, and am a community organizer. I have plenty of experience with children considering I have 11 nieces and nephews (big families are something haha), and I've worked at a Boys and Girls Club from middle school to high school, and a local YMCA about two years ago. I've worked with kids from elementary up to high school ages and have been a mentor and tutor to many over the years.
